Smorrebrod brunch 🤤. Traditional Danish rye bread and pickles made by @williamzest 😍 I had pickled herring with daikon radish spouts and dill, smoked salmon with Will’s pickles, and fried egg with cheese and tomato. I resisted having danish coffee (with brown sugar and aquavit 😜)Thanks @caravanvet for taking great care of us for over 6 years! Pigeon (and we) love the comfort and ease of not having to leave her home. (I should have gotten a picture of all of us on the living room floor 🤪) We also deeply appreciated the cards and care you’ve expressed over our loss of Turtle. I strongly recommend @caravanvet, for us it is 100% worth the added expense of a home visit. So apparently it’s our 8 year wedding anniversary. We both forgot until @williamzest mother reminded us. We spent the day climbing with @annalesa. Now for more drinks and dinner!Got a new gig as a youth climbing 🧗🏽♀️ coach at Vertical Endeavors! Just two days a week so I can stay focused on growing Zest Ed and challenge myself to grow as a professional coach.

Actual fun.
I had fun! Real fun. Type one fun. The kind of fun that actually feels like fun the whole time. Not the second type of fun that feels terrible until it’s over. Will and I had a little vacation before … Continue reading
Camping Thwarted
It wasn’t for lack of trying. It just felt particularly difficult this year. Type two fun still has to feel worth it. Sometimes being temporarily miserable doesn’t feel rewarding or satisfying. Not much camping occurred on this winter trip. Will … Continue reading
Ready for…?
We’re ready…. We’ve been towing weight around the track at the gym… I’ve towed 205lbs for a 1/2 mile. I’ve deadlifted 200lbs once. Now I feel somewhat prepared to haul Will out of the woods in an emergency. Although he’s … Continue reading

I figured out what my life is all about! Well, no, not really. But I figured out what my blog is about: miserable fun! Yup, Type 2 Fun. Fun that isn’t fun until it’s over. I willingly, often eagerly involve … Continue reading

Bad Igloo, Good Cabin
On day three we decided to make an igloo. It would be a fun way to spend a layover day. We were optimistic. Years ago I bought this thing: We’d tried and failed three times in past years. This time … Continue reading
